Tishman Speyer Executes 6,866-SF Lease at PIER 4 with Kristin Canty
Prime dining returns to premier address as developer attracts the first farm-to-table restaurant to the Seaport neighborhood
BOSTON – October 27, 2017 – Tishman Speyer today announced it has secured a 6,866- square-foot lease with restaurateur Kristin Canty on the ground-floor of PIER 4, a boutique, nine-story residential building with 106, one- to four-bedroom ocean homes, each with private outdoor space and surrounded by water on three sides. This lease signifies destination dining’s return to the former Anthony’s PIER 4 site with the Seaport’s first farm-to-table restaurant.
Canty is well-known for Woods Hill Table, an organic restaurant located in Concord, MA that sources all its ingredients from Canty’s very own farm, The Farm at Woods Hill located in Bath, NH, and other small purveyors. The restaurant, complete with a full bar, is a culmination of her passion for food, family farms, sustainable sourcing and ancestral health.
“Anthony’s PIER 4 brought celebrities and dignitaries to the South Boston waterfront long before it’s development boom. The site was considered one of the most picturesque dining destinations in the city, and we are determined to continue that legacy,” said Jeffrey Wechsler, Managing Director at Tishman Speyer. “We are thrilled to partner with Kristin – her farm-to-table concept will bring something original to the Seaport’s growing retail base. We look forward to announcing additional local retail tenants that contribute to the urban respite we’re creating on the waterfront.”
“I have fond memories of celebrating with friends and family at Anthony’s PIER 4. As a restaurateur, I’m inspired by its impact on the Boston restaurant scene. While the Anthony’s PIER 4 experience could never be replicated, we do hope to honor its legacy by providing the Seaport a convivial waterfront dining atmosphere and warm hospitality,” said Woods Hill Table Owner Kristin Canty.
Canty’s restaurant will contribute to the Seaport’s growing retail base. Welcoming new concepts constantly, the neighborhood has established itself as a dining, wellness and retail destination. Recent and anticipated openings walking distance from PIER 4 include: Equinox Seaport, Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar in Fort Point, CorePower Yoga, Mr. Sid, La Colombe Coffee Roasters, and more.
PIER 4 is proximate to I-90W, 1-90E, I-93S and I-93W, walking distance to public transportation at South Station and the MBTA Silver Line, and water taxi. Designed by internationally renowned firm SHoP, in collaboration with Boston-based CBT, with landscaping by Reed Hilderbrand and interiors by II BY IV DESIGN, PIER 4 will be a significant waterfront gem that continues the pier’s legacy as an iconic address in the city, once frequented by many celebrated actors, politicians and Bostonians. Adjacent to the Institute of Contemporary Art on the Boston Harbor, the development brings lush outdoor spaces to the Seaport, including a future one-acre park, sea steps at the tip of the site, an extension of the Harbor Walk, the perfect atmosphere for a city dining experience.
PIER 4’s architecture complements its waterside location and the surrounding buildings. Its soft edges and unique white brick and glass facade will bring a beautiful aesthetic to the neighborhood as the building curves to the West towards the ICA, and its exterior picks up light and texture from the water. Each sustainably-designed home at PIER 4 will offer a sophisticated and unique layout, encompassing elegant finishes and private outdoor space, in an amenity-filled waterfront setting. In addition to a private terrace, each penthouse home will boast a private roof deck. Amenities will include pet-friendly conveniences, an exclusive residents club, an expansive outdoor terrace, a seating and dining area with a fire pit, a luxury fitness center with state-of the-art equipment, and onsite self-parking and valet. The building will also offer virtual golf so avid players can practice their swing year-round.
Offering an unmatched level of convenience and comfort, FirstService Residential, a concierge company that provides 24/7 service to residents that rivals the programs found in five-star resorts and private country clubs, is making its Boston debut at PIER 4, and the building’s future onsite concierge will be at Sales Gallery appointments.
